Friendships

I am blessed that my girls are friends... you don't find that very often.  While I know they will disagree occasionally, they always come back to eachother.

Farmers Market Photo Scavenger Hunt.

This weeks scavenger hunt was at the local farmers market.  I stumbled upon this website http://www.ashleysisk.com/ and decided to join for the week.  Bailey has a great eye for finding some of the items on the list.

1. Music to my ears... or Music to my stomach?

2. Hat.  Not too many interesting hats this week. But, this man was happy to pose for us.

3. Clear.  Staying hydrated is a must in this horrible New Mexico heat.

3. Out of this world.  Loved this man and his ladies resting against the wall.

3. Sprinkles... Yummy bread was everywhere.  I liked this one sprinkled with sea salt.

Iowa

Well, we went to Iowa to visit Frank's parents and bring back a car they gave the girls. We flew into Minneapolis and shopped at the Mall of America and IKEA. I have to say, even I was shopped out by the end of two days. Pete came to get us and after a 4 hour drive we were in Hudson, Iowa. It is true what they say... corn fields everywhere as well as soy bean fields. I wish I could have brought back some of the moisture and the greenery.  It was great meeting Pete's family, Dick, Donna, Joe, Bradley, Jennifer, Doug, Sherri and others.

The girls new car.  It made it 1800 miles.  We drove 13 hours the first day to Colorado and stayed a couple of days with Mike and Chris.  Not a bad car for the girls to drive around it.  Mack started drivers ed...

Dick has a pond on his property. The girls had a blast on the paddle boat he cleaned up for them.  We even got Pete out there with us for awhile.

Bailey and I went frog hunting.  Bailey had great eyes for finding them.  I was just the picture taking person.

There were no fences between properties so you never knew whose cornfields belonged to who. They were only about 2 feet tall and are supposed to grow up to 6 feet tall.

I tried to get up in the morning and go for a walk to get some exercise.  Here is the road I walked.  Yes, my view were more cornfields.

Frank and I had a private wine tasting in Joe's basement.  Can you say redneck?  Ever had dandelion wine? Neither had I. I did enjoy all the berry wines and even came home with a case of his different varieties.  Do you like our plastic wine glasses.  I was a bit inebriated after the tasting.  ;0)

Donna had a beautiful flower garden.  I was jealous. It is so dry here all the flowers and veggies I planted are struggling to stay alive.

Windmills were everywhere too.

Stopped at Cabelas in Nebraska.  I think I walked out of the store with more clothes for me than Frank.

Smokin Beauty

New Mexico has been plagued with fires this year.  We are getting smoke in our city from the large Arizona fire as well as all the fires around the state.  At times the smoke is so thick you can not go outside.  While this is troublesome for people with health problems and for the state in general, the sunrises and sunsets have been spectacular.  The firey red ball is in the sky all lit up and luminating in the distance

These sunrise pictures are taken from my rooftop at about 6:00am.

My window is showing its dirt... but the way the sun was lighting up the sky was just awesome.

Sunset pictures at about 7:30pm from my rooftop.

We are all doing a rain dance here in New Mexico.  We have not had rain in over 200 days.

Pomegranate... it has to be healthy. Right?

I keep telling myself it can't be that bad since it has Pomegranate in it.
I do like this wine.

Black Bear

Her name is "Osa Negra" which means Black Bear.  She is a pure bred German Shephard.  Most people do not think she is shephard because she is pure black.  She had an ear infection which made her her left ear flop :0(    She is a super sweet dog that loves to play.

Sisters...

My girls are only 20 months apart and are usually the best of friends.  This picture was taken Christmas day.  They were snuggling watching a movie on the laptop

Good Morning...

I seem to see the prettiest sunrises on my way home from taking my daughter to school between 6:40am and 6:50am.  I race home, locate my camera and hop on my rooftop to take pictures.  The window was short this morning.  The orange and yellow came and went within 5 minutes as the clouds covered the sun.
This is just a reminder that sometimes the windows and opportunities in life are short too.
